Giant Tree of Life Installed at Newburgh NY Hospice.

The Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties Inc, located in Newburgh, NY, recently commissioned Dave Little and Winnepesaukee Forge to build an eight-foot high 'donor recognition tree', to hang in the lobby of their newly built 11-bed residence. The tree's 400 individual copper, brass, and silver-colored leaves will be etched with the names of the many individual donors who have contributed to make the new Kaplan Family Hospice Residence a reality.

Dave Little first met Kathy Webber, the Director of Development for the Hospice Memorial Program, at the Rhinebeck Crafts Fair in Rhinebeck NY. There Webber found Dave's already popular Tree of Life wall sculpture to be an uncanny match for her well-established annual 'Tree of Life' fundraising program. She envisioned a memorial Tree of Life as an ideal way to make a permanent commemorative display of donor names and honorees.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at the center on Saturday, March 11, 2006.
